Our Doctors

Our Doctors have a vast experience in all aspects of general practice. Dr Weizhen Lu has special interests in preventative health management, mental health, men and women’s health, paediatrics, adolescent health and natural medicine.

Telephoning your Doctor

Our doctor may be contacted during normal surgery hours. If the doctor is with a patient, a message will be taken and the reception staff will advice you when it is likely that the he will return your call and usually it’s in between seeing patients or at end of the day.

Your call will always be put through to the doctor in an emergency.

Test Results

We will give you instructions on how to obtain results for pathology or imaging tests (X-rays, Ultrasounds etc). In general, results are given during consultation in order to allow for appropriate discussion of their implications. It is advisable to make an appointment to discuss further management or follow-ups.

Fees and Billing Arrangements

We offer bulk billing to all patients who hold a valid Australian Medicare card, including children under 16 years, concession card holders, DVA Gold Card holders, and cancer patients undergoing treatment. All Medicare-eligible consults and procedures will be bulk billed. Please bring your Medicare card and any current Pension or HealthCare Card (if applicable) to every appointment.

A private fee applies to patients who are not registered with Medicare or for any consultation or procedure not covered by the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS). This fee can only be confirmed after your appointment. If you do not hold a valid Australian Medicare card, please advise reception prior to your consultation.

If your visit is related to a workplace injury, please inform reception and your attending doctor. Work-related consultations and treatment will be billed directly to your employer or the relevant insurance company once a valid claim number has been provided and the claim has been approved.

If you do not have a claim number, or if your claim has not yet been approved, you will be required to pay your consultation fees in full on the day.

There may be additional costs for specialised services provided by our GPs or for referrals to other health professionals.

Skin Procedures

All skin procedures are performed exclusively by Dr Lu, so please contact the practice directly to book with her.

There is an out-of-pocket fee to cover the cost of instruments used, as this component is not covered by Medicare. Payment is required on the day by cash or card, and no accounts can be issued.

A 30-minute appointment is required for all skin procedures, so please speak with our reception staff to arrange a suitable time.

The additional fees are:
Pension card holders: $40.00
Non-pension patients: $60.00

After Hours Care

If you need urgent medical attention outside of our normal surgery hours, please contact National Home Doctor Service on 137 425. You can arrange for a home visit and you will be bulk billed if you have a valid Medicare Card. This service is available during weekdays (6pm-9am) and all day Saturday and Sunday. Brochures are available our reception area.

Appointments

An appointment system operates in this practice with an average of 15 minutes allocated per patient unless a long appointment is required. Every effort will be made to accommodate your preferred time. When booking, please advise the receptionist if your problem is URGENT, if you require a long appointment, need a special medical examination or procedure or if more than one family member needs to be seen. If you are unable to keep the appointment, please inform us as soon as possible so that someone else can be accommodated. If you or a family member requires an interpreter service, we can organize this for you.

Walk-in patients – we try to accommodate where we can however, patients with appointments will have priority.

Recalls and Reminders

We are committed to preventive care. To provide for an efficient monitoring of your health, this practice offers a computerised system of recalls and reminders. Your doctor will seek your permission to be included in our reminder system.
